Social Acceptability

Objectives

Creating social acceptability based on dialogue with the public
  • Given the current national sentiment, it is very difficult to attain such a dialogue.
    > It is important to create an environment for the dialogue over time
  • It is necessary to discuss carefully about who the stakeholders are with whom dialogue is to be held.
    > Setting up a core group as the first step.
Social Acceptability

Major outcomes

  • • Review about formation of the core group to have a dialogue within several communities will be performed and its feasibility will be clarified.
    • Differences between communities in public awareness about nuclear energy and decommissioning will be clarified.
    • Differences between communities in public awareness will be clarified by implementing a nationwide web-based questionnaire survey, and principles for selection of communities to set up the core group will be defined.
